Greg's family tradition in the jewelry business started over 75 years ago.  Greg's father, Wayne Becklund, came to Minneapolis from North Dakota at the age of 18.  He opened a small shop on Lake Street doing watch repairs.  Over the years, his jewelry business grew to include store locations in Highland Village, Crystal, Minnetonka and Eden Prairie.

 

Greg began his apprenticeship as a teenager, learning about diamonds, gemstones and jewelry design.  His hands-on experience came from the tutelage of both his parents, Wayne and Frances.  By the 1980s, Greg was doing insurance appraisals for all the family's store locations.  Greg also managed the jewelry repair shop in Minnetonka.  By 1990, he became president of Becklund Jewelers and opened the family's newest location in Eden Prairie.

Although Becklund Jewelers retail locations are now closed, Greg continues to serve his customers by appointment from his office in St. Louis Park.
